A nurse has a 70% alcohol solution and a 30% alcohol solution. How many mL of each should be used to make 400 mL of a 40% alcohol solution?
A. 100mL/70% + 300mL/30%
B. 150mL/70% + 250mL/30%
C. 100mL/30% + 300mL/70%
D. 245mL/70% + 255mL/30%

This is a good alligation practice problem. Remember that as soon as you see there is a higher and a lower strength to work with, start thinking about writing out a tic-tac-toe grid and running an alligation.
